The Lycian Way - Coastal Hiking Trail from Fethiye to Antalya
The Lycian Way is a long-distance hiking trail stretching approximately 470 miles (760 kilometres) across the ancient region of Lycia in western Turkey. Named after the ancient Lycian civilization that once thrived in the area, this trail offers adventurers a journey through diverse terrain, from rugged mountains to tranquil valleys.

The Lycian Way traverses some of Turkey's most picturesque landscapes. Location & Climate
Located on the south-west of Turkey, Fethiye and its surroundings are in close proximity to the most famous beach resorts of Turkey. It is to the east of Antalya, a very famous beach resort city in the south of Turkey, about 125 miles (200 kms) away. Antalya has an airport with connections to Istanbul.
This region which receives average rainfall during the winter months with temperatures at around 42-50 Fahrenheit (6-12 Celsius); and very hot summer months with temperatures between 85-105 Fahrenheit (30-40 Celsius). You need to remember that these are averages and the extreme temperatures can be very low and high depending on season and day.

At some stages of this hiking trail, you may find pensions, bungalows and camping sites. We strongly suggest travellers to carry a lightweight tent.
What hiking gear do you need for the Lycian Way?
Good hiking shoes, rain coat (and rain cover for backpack) during winter months and lots of water.
Can my bags be transported between camps?
Some travel companies offer such solutions. The best way to keep costs down is to bring lightweight gear and carry everything yourself.
Can I hike the Lycian Way solo?
Yes, you can. We suggest the first week or so of the Lycian Way that starts from Fethiye and ends around Kas for solo travellers. Solo hiking always carries risks so be careful.
